Slováci na majstrovstách sveta v skialpinizme,
Andora – Canillo „Tlaky v Andore“!

Svetový skialpinizmus zavítal do malého kniežatstva, v Pyrenejách medzi Francúzskom a Španielskom, bezcolnej zóne, v Andore.

MS v Andore – Canillo, dnes začalo svoju súťažnú časť vertikálnym pretekom s hromadným štartom. V štartovom poli sme mali 4 pretekárov. Slovenských juniorov zastupovali Simona Triznová a Marek Litvaj. V kategórii „espoir“ do 23 rokov, to boli Michal Jokl a Juro Laštík.

Trať vertikálu bola vcelku položená, o čom svedčí aj dĺžka trate 6 km pri prevýšení 880 m. Juniori štartovali z polovice seniorského preteku, z Riba Escorxsada (2070m.n.m) so spoločným cieľom so seniormi na vrchole Tossal de la Llosada (2560m.n.m). Seniori štartovali zo strediska El Tarter vo výške (1680 m.n.m).

Naši pretekári neudávali tempo ani v jednej z kategórii, no nestratili sa v hĺbke štartového poľa, čo platí najmä o junioroch. Simonka zvládla svojich 490+ metríkov a prišla na peknom 10. mieste. Marek Litvaj pri svojej premiére vo veľkom svete svetového skialpinizmu obsadil 10. miesto, čo je v silnej konkurencii výborný výsledok. Michal Jokl a Juro Laštík zaostali určite aj za svojím očakávaním a predbežne v kategórii do 23 rokov obsadili 18. a 20. miesto.

Dnes sa opať ukázalo, že svet nás nebude čakať, veľmi sa vyšvihli Slovinci, Česi nás tiež porazili. MS v Andore ešte len začali, pred sebou máme voľný deň, potom sa budú rozdávať karty v pretekoch jednotlivcov. Dnes našu výpravu ešte čaká otvárací ceremoniál. Zajtra nás čaká prehliadka trate preteku jednotlivcov. Držte palce!

Kilian Jornet winner of the Ski Mountaineering
World Championships` Vertical Race

Catalan Kilian Jornet has one the first race of the World Championships, the Vertical Race that has taken place in Tarter with a 39:50 minutes crono revalidating his title as World Champion in this category. Italian Dennis Brunod came in second, 7 seconds later, and the French racer Florent Perrier completes the podium with a 40.04 minutes crono. In the Women?s Senior Category the podium was for Italian Roberta Pedranzini, the French racer Laetita Roux and the Italian Francesca Martinelli. The Catalan racer Mireia Miró was left out of the podium by only 20 seconds, and Sophie Dusautoir from Andorra was fitfth with her best crono ever and only 30 seconds away from podium. Francesc Puigarniscle, race director, declares it has been an extremely competitive race and for the first time below 40 minutes.

Kilian Jornet the winner has explained he had a cold two days ago and a temperature with it, but even so, he ?gave the best he had? and has been very happy to see he won. As the race didn?t have a very quick kick off he was able to keep up with the racers at the head and in the last part, with ?a lot of effort? has shown he?s the strongest and has arrived in a final sprint. In second position we have the Italian Dennis Brunod, or though not a favourite to start with, and in third position the Frenchman Florent Perrier that always that in Andorra obtains good results.

Women`s senior race has also been spectacular and of an excellent level. The three girls have done times below 50 minutes. Roberta Pedranzini has won, whilst Laetita Roux, from France, has shown she had been training for the championships coming in second. Third position has been for the Italian Francesca Martinelli, and the deception has been for Catalan Mireia Miró left out from the podium by 20 seconds. As for the Andorran athletes, Sophie Dusautoir has come in a good fourth position in front of the Swiss and Ariadna Tudel has also met expectations as or though it is not her speciality she has come in amongst the first fifteen, and is now keeping some energy for the team race.

Fransesc Puigarniscle, race director, says the organization has been good, and judges have said everything has been perfect, start, finish, the ski resort collaboration as well as the volunteers'? work. Weather has also shown to be good for the race.
