Dear Federation Officials,


The well-known Olympus Ski Mountaineering Team Race will take place for 3rd time on 30th March 2014. The Hellenic Federation of Mountaineering & Climbing in cooperation with the Region of Thessaly, the Municipality of Elassona, and the Mountaineering club of Elassona are the main organizers.

The race will take place on mythical Mt Olympus where, as legend holds, the ancient Greek Gods used to live. Following a route steeped in history, the competitors will have to ski to the highest peaks of the mountain, close to the legendary throne of Zeus. Due to the unique morphology and positioning of Olympus, the route offers spectacular views of the Aegean Sea (which is at the foothill of the mountain), the Pindus mountain range and the sacred mountain of Athos, and the surrounding cities and villages.

Our race is certified by the International Ski Mountaineering Federation (ISMF). Please find attached the brochure and the poster of our race. We would really appreciate the circulation of the brochure and the poster to your members.
